About Dr. Mussa

Dr. Mussa is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Mussa's clinical practice is comprehensive with special interest in evolving treatment of acute aortic dissection; fenestrated and branched endograft technology and complex open aortic reconstructions. He also specializes in all aspects of vascular and endovascular surgery including aortic aneurysm repair, carotid artery conditions, peripheral arterial disease, thrombolysis, varicose veins, and advanced venous insufficiency.

Dr. Mussa is the recipient of Mentored Clinical Scientists Development Award (K12 AWARD 2010-2013) from Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality and National Institute of Health to study the "Comparative Effectiveness of Endovascular Intervention in Treatment of Diabetic Foot Ulcers".

He collaborates with researches at NYU and Mount Sinai School of Medicine to characterize the molecular basis of plaque progression and regression, vascular inflammation and novel imaging techniques with molecular MRI and PET/CT scan and developing new contrast nonoparticles.

Dr. Mussa is a member of all major vascular societies. He is published in both basic and clinical sciences research and has presented in over 30 local, regional, and national meetings. Dr. Mussa is fluent in Arabic and French.
