Future Initiatives
The Division of Vascular Surgery at NYU is excited to be able to enter the global stage for the education of other physicians in vascular disease and treatment.
Working with industry, the ten surgeons in the NYU Division of Vascular Surgery are reaching out to third world countries to both educate their physicians in the screening for aortic aneurysm disease, and to train them in the use of minimally invasive endovascular techniques to treat this disease. NYU is proud to be able to carry this technology forward on a global basis. Over the last year, NYU has trained over 100 cardiologists, radiologists, and vascular surgeons from Latin America. These physicians attend monthly courses in advanced endovascular interventions. In the future, the NYU Division of Vascular Surgery will extend this training to other third world countries in Asia including India and the Far East.
Again, the NYU Division of Vascular Surgery is proud to be able to share and spread our knowledge and expertise in these innovative techniques around the globe.
