Areas of Expertise
Minimally invasive vascular surgery procedures provide an alternative to traditional, open surgical procedures. This section provides descriptions of some of the most common minimally invasive procedures that are performed by our physicians. Also referred to as endovascular surgery, minimally invasive procedures generally involve correcting the vascular problem using either a very short incision or no incision at all! Minimally invasive procedures utilize catheters and implantable devices such as stents or stent grafts.
The NYU Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery places a special emphasis on minimally invasive procedures for treating vascular diseases. If appropriate for your condition, our physicians have extensive experience and a great track record in performing all of the newest procedures including stents and angioplasty for carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysms, and blockages in arteries throughout the body.
